Our Minister

The Revd. David M Scott, BSc BD(Min)

David was ordained and inducted to the Joint Pastorate of Duke Street URC and Saughtonhall URC in April 2018.  David was a Chartered Surveyor until 2014 when he began training for ministry at the University of Glasgow and the Scottish United Reformed and Congregational College.

Prior to studying for ministry David was a partner and director in small firm of Chartered Valuation Surveyors with Property Management Department having studied Land Economics at the University of Paisley in the early 1990s.

David, who is from Paisley, is married to Nova with son Fraser and daughter Beth.

His home church was Oakshaw Trinity in Paisley, which is a URC/Church of Scotland Local Ecumenical Partnership.  In Oakshaw Trinity David was an active member being an Elder, Boys’ Brigade Captain and convenor of the congregation’s last nominating committee.

In addition to being the minister at Duke Street URC, David is also the minister at Saughtonhall URC in Edinburgh, he sits on the United Reformed Church’s National Synod of Scotland’s Finance and Property committee and is Chaplain to Edinburgh, Leith and District of the Boys’ Brigade.

As a minister David sees the value of thoughtful and contextual worship alongside a person centred ministry where individuals are recognised and valued for who they are, each with a story to tell.
